Geology       The mining elevation is about 1220 ~ 4112m above sea level, with a type of a strong weathering geomorphology. The main mineral for the region is called "Hu Ya" manganese, with an exposed length of about 200km. The hydro-geological conditions and engineering is favorable for mining. Altogether, there are three manganese and 8 iron orebodies in Dachongzui mining section with an exposed length of 24km, while two manganese and two iron orebodies in high-side mining section with a exposed length of 28km. Deposits caused by the regional metamorphism, a type of marine metamorphic deposits.

Targets         In Songpan-Pingwu region, total resources of carbonate manganese ore can be achieved about 62,650,000 tons. Within the mining area, the formation of regional metamorphic rocks has geosyncline construction, which is more preferable for development of ferromanganese deposits.
